Dr. Ini-Isabee Gunn, PMP
Director & Principal Consultant
With two decades of experience in the life sciences, Dr. Ini-Isabée Gunn leads BioLink Consulting with a commitment to delivering strategic, science-based solutions that drive meaningful outcomes. Drawing on her extensive background in biology, project management, and stakeholder engagement, Ini founded BioLink Consulting in 2024 to offer specialised consultancy services tailored to New Zealand’s unique challenges.
Relevant Experience and Expertise
Ini has overseen impactful projects for diverse clients, including local and national government bodies, and is known for assembling customised project teams that bring the right expertise to each task. Recent BioLink Consulting projects include developing a sector paper for Te Uru Kahika – Regional and Unitary Councils Aotearoa to inform the review of New Zealand’s National Wilding Conifer Strategy, and creating comprehensive guidance documents and frameworks for Otago Regional Council to support biosecurity and pathway management.
Prior to establishing BioLink Consulting, Ini led strategic biosecurity and biodiversity initiatives at Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) as Principal Advisor Ecology (Biosecurity & Biodiversity), managing national programmes in pest control, and spearheading the agency’s 10-year Biosecurity & Biodiversity Strategy. She also served as the first Project Coordinator for Predator Free Southland, where she facilitated the development of a collaborative network uniting government agencies, rūnaka, and community groups to achieve regional conservation goals.
Commitment to Quality and Client-Centered Solutions
BioLink Consulting takes on a limited number of projects to ensure clients receive focused attention and high-quality outcomes. Ini either leads projects herself or assembles tailored project teams for complex initiatives requiring additional expertise and manpower. This approach ensures clients benefit from efficient, cost-effective solutions, with the right professionals aligned to meet their specific needs. Her emphasis on clear communication and collaboration fosters strong relationships with stakeholders, creating solutions that are not only impactful but sustainable.
Ini’s career began in research roles across the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and the Middle East, where she contributed to scientific studies and innovations, and designed and managed biological research facilities (biosafety level 1 and 2). Prior to focusing on New Zealand’s environmental sector, she supported international conservation programmes with the UN Environmental Programme in Abu Dhabi. She now channels her scientific expertise and strategic vision into BioLink Consulting’s work, advancing conservation and biosecurity initiatives across New Zealand.
Tailored Project Teams
At BioLink Consulting, each project team is customised to meet the specific requirements of each client. As such, team details are not listed here; instead, information on selected team members is provided in project proposals. This approach ensures that only the expertise relevant to the project is included, offering a focused, cost-effective solution designed to deliver the best outcomes.
